Establishment of Epsilon International, Inc., Colorado , USA , with headquarters in Boston , Massachusetts , USA .

1991

Establishment of Epsilon International SA (EPSILON) . Since then the company attains significant international presence in the sectors of environmental sciences, GIS technologies, geo-databases, and space technologies including aviation.

EPSILON and Salzgitter AG are awarded a multimillion EC contract for the environmental management of Lake Titicaca and the Pampa Puno Region, Peru.

EPSILON is the concept & engineering award winner for the design of the wastewater processing & recycling plant of the region of Chania , Greece

EPSILON and ESRI GmbH are awarded under the support of twelve European partners MEDORA , an EC project aimed to deliver Typology of Rural Areas via Telematics Forecasting & GIS technologies. As of that, EPSILON enters the GIS technologies field, and in addition provides support to the EC TYPORA project.

EPSILON is awarded MEDSPA , a project funded by the Structural Funds & EC/DGXI, aimed at an environmental master & implementation plans for the Salamina Island, Greece. It focused in the integrated environmental restoration of the island, including its municipal water supply-, wastewater- & municipal-waste systems, its nature & biodiversity, its coastal ecosystems, and other environment components, whilst utilizing ground- and satellite-technologies, GIS, simulation modeling, and state-of-the-art engineering recycling technologies.

1991

EPSILON and ESRI GmbH initiate the operation of an office in Brussels whilst being awarded Europe 2000+, an EC/DGXIII project aimed at the production of a monumental book-document that was exclusively based on the Eurostat database and GIS/DTP technologies, and was authored by historians focus in EU historic record and projected future.

1992

Establishment of EPSILON SA (EPSILON). Since then the company attains significant presence in civil-, hydraulics- and environmental engineering projects in the Greek and international markets. Today EPSILON-Greece holds E-class certification in engineering-design (the highest available from the Ministry of Enviro nment, Land use and Public Works, GR, YPEXODE) in several engineering categories for public works engineering design & consulting reliability.

1993

EPSILON is awarded AVICENNE, a project funded by the EC/DGXII. It aimed at an EIA (environmental impact assessment) for non-point source pollution runoff & sediment in the Mediterranean Basin , via advanced remoter sensing, space-GIS and other cartography technologies. The project evolved under the cooperation of Turkish, Egyptian, and Italian partners, and related public bodies and ministries.

1994

EPSILON is awarded EGIS, a project funded by the EC/DGXIII and aimed at technology development for the creation of a Pan-European GIS database for European Cities, including the basis for the realization of land registries for Eastern European cities. The project covered nine East European Countries and Russia (GR, BG, CZ, PL, HU, SL, LT, RU, PL, RO).

1994

EPSILON (25%) and ERSI GmbH (25%) established GIS Technologies St Petersburg Corp. (GSTP) in St. Petersburg, Russia , in cooperation with Aerologia Corp. ™ the National Organization of Remote Sensing (25%), and NIMKAM ™ the Russian Geology Institute (25%). GTSP Corp.: (i) obtains license for the Russian high resolution analogue satellite images KOSMOS (KVR, KFA images) and other technologies, (ii) obtains access to the space technologies of Complex Systems Corp ™ , an organization engaged in the monitoring of marine-, coastal-, and fisheries-systems at international level (e.g., management of 10,000 fishing vessels worldwide); and (iii) to the Department of Cybernetics, Technical University of St. Petersburg. GTSP produced Digital Greece ™ , a product of exceptional accuracy that has been refined in the recent years and has become the standard EPSILON database for Greece, available in Tele Atlas NV ™ products, navigators, and numerous Hellenic public organizations.

1994

Epsilon International SA develops in association with GTSP Corp, the first geo-database of Greece , featuring the entire countries in various scales. The product, Digital Greece™ has been a pioneering achievement wit multiple copyrights, with continuous evolution up to today. Digital Greece ™ is the largest private geo-database available for Greece today.

EPSILON SA produces STATISTICA ™ , a large geo-database available on CD-ROM (the first of its kind in Greece ), a project supported by the Hellenic Statistical Service (ESYE) and aimed to make available to the public the Statistical Socioeconomic Database for Greece .

Epsilon International SA is awarded COPESTAT , a project funded by the EC/DGXIII on “GIS based Dissemination of Public Statistics for CZ, SL, RU, HU, PL . This has been the first project of its kind sponsored by the EC and INCO East European countries.

Epsilon International SA assumes the representation of the Danish Hydraulics Institute, DHI (www.dhi.dk) for Greece and Cyprus . DHI specializes in hi-tech water resources and environmental mathematical modeling applications including GIS-based technologies. EPSILON provides training, applications consulting, and databases management for models installation: universities, private & public sectors.

1995

Epsilon International SA is awarded the EC/DGXIII ENVIROCITY system aimed to developed webGIS s/w technology to depicting the environment status of European Cities via early Internet & telematics services. Pilot cities: Antwerp , Athens , Munich , Frankfurt.

1996

Epsilon International SA assumes the representation LandInfo Inc , a high-tech geo-information & mapping US based company. However, due to legal matters with the Hellenic public organizations engaged in mapping, EPSILON discontinued the representation after a two years successful operation.

1996

Epsilon International SA is awarded the EC/DGXIII ENVISYS aimed to develop the system: Enviro nmental Analysis and Side-Effects of Sea Oil Spills, via satellite, remote sensing, and GIS technologies. The company introduces ENCs/S57 standards (electronic navigation charts/S57) and space technology whilst monitoring marine & coastal environments.

Epsilon International SA establishes Epsilon Consulting Ltd. ( Cyprus ), Nicosia , Cyprus in association with Mr. Evelthon Iacovidis on a mutual shareholding basis.

EPSILON assumes from the Athens Water & Sewerage Authority, EYDAP, the digitization of its water supply, seweage and drainage networks , including the company geo-database. A large scale gis/cad/cam project for Greece.

1999

EPSILON in association with Bull Computer Systems SA and Knowledge SA is awarded the Hellenic Enviro nmental Monitoring & Information Network, EDPP. The systems contain the entire information of the Hellenic EiOnet/EC and detailed real-time geo-information on 11 environment sectors.

1999

EPSILON and the Acharnes Alpinist Organization assume on behalf the Hellenic Tourism Organization (EOT/GNTO) the production of 24 mountaineering and trail cartographic maps based on GIS technologies, as for example: Mt. Olympus , Mt. Pindos , Mt. Parnassos , Mt. Rodopi , Mt. Helmos . http://www.gnto.gr/. The project sets the basis for the company’s Cartography Department, which in turn produced the MairDumont/Falk for the regions of Greece , islands, travel guides for several other productions.

1999

EPSILON and Laser Scan Ltd. produce the first ENCs (electronic navigation chart, marine chart) of Greece , in S57 format; thus, the company dynamically enters the technology of the GIS marine-environment. In the following years EPSILON teams-up with SevenSeas GmbH and other partners in this geo-marine domain.

2000

EPSILON and RouteSmart. Inc assume the Hellenic Postal Service (ELTA) geo-database, fleet management, rooting-optimization, sectoral partitioning, and other geo-services based on ESRI technology. The cooperation continues today; thus, ELTA being one of the most loyal partners.

2001

EPSILON & ESRI-Romania are awarded the Tisa River Basin project from the Ministry of Enviro nment, Romania; aimed at predicting reliability and impacts of floods across Romania, whilst utilizing real time meteorological & hydrologic data, geo-information, and sensor warning technologies, linked to: (i) GIS-based mathematical models, (ii) Socio–economic schemes and software, (iii) Automated info-society warning system, and (iv) A computational distributed platform.

2002

EPSILON and PC-Systems SA establish Epsilon GIS Technologies SA, Greece . The company exclusively specializes in all-type of GIS technologies from field data capturing, to aircraft GIS-based avionics, and to airport management. The company assumes in 2003 all GIS applications of the Athens-2004 Olympic Games.

2003

EPSILON cooperates with Eurostat/EC/IST in the development of the first environmental sustainability mathematical model, EPSILON-NUTSIII, which is funded by the EC/INSFO and is based on readily available Eurostat and other databases at NUTSIII European level. The model has set a history for its concept and mathematical predictions.

EPSILON and Tele Atlas NV, Belgium , establish cooperation for the production of the Tele Atlas Multinet navigational geo-database. EPSILON developed specialized technologies for field data capturing, real time database upgrading, and database validation. The product is being used by most navigators of today, like the Tom-Tom, the Mio-Walker, etc.

EPSILON and the MairDumont/Falk Cartographic Organization (DE) assume the production of 42 light maps that cover Greece, 30 Map & Guides, and Falk-booklets for deleted regions and cities. All products are based on Digital Greece ™ .

2003

The SAIC Inc Consortium awarded to EPSILON the GIS technologies and digital data production aimed to support military requirements of the Olympic Games and the Security System of ATHENS-2004. Applications were developed for fleet vehicle navigation, navigation & surveillance of VIPs, forest-fire and flood applications for the Hellenic Fire Department and numerous public organizations including the: Hellenic Police, Department of Defense, Hellenic Marine & Military, and Hellenic Civil Protection Authority.

EPSILON and a consortium of ten South-East-Europe organizations assumed the DIGITAL-SEE Geodata Warehouse, a type of a Google Earth ™ development aimed to act as a geo-data-broker for multiple users, suppliers, and data formats.

2005

EPSILON in association with Mertle SA (F), ESRI GmbH (DE) and MiCe spa (IT) assumed the Urban/City Risks Civil Protection project (PASR/DGENV) with an EU25-wide coverage. The project delivered background information on Civil Protection strategies to be followed by EU Member States, as well as guidance and statistics of expected performance.

2006

EPSILON develops CORINE, the first campus & in-door navigation s/w technology linked to the i-Go navigator. The product is based on in-door wifi state-of-technology and series of monitoring modules. Original technology development is funded by the Hellenic Ministry of Industry, General Secretariat of R&D.

EPSILON and seven European Aerospace-Partners develop the first world-wide aircraft avionics geo-database technology LANDING, for the automated landing of small-medium aircrafts of the general & the private aviation. The product is based on proprietary GPS/EGNOS technology, moving terrain/maps visualization, landing-tunneling computational high-speed rendering, and 3D geo-database technology for the airport and its vicinity. The product will be commercially available in 2009.

2006

Epsilon Italia srl http://www.epsilon-italia.it/ becomes a member of the EPSILON Group, after a successful operation as MiCE Microwave Engineering srl, a high-tech engineering organization specializing in cutting-edge space technologies, geo-technologies, GIS systems for space & aeronautics applications, satellite tracking technologies, and Google Earth™ applications.

2007

EPSILON represents Elsacom Spa™ (IT http://www.elsacom.com/ the Global Star telecommunications organization) in Greece and Cyprus, and offers space telecoms applications in vehicle tracking & communications, vessels tracking & communications, aircrafts tracking and communications, and other types of services in this logistics sector. EPSILON sand Elsacom develop a joint geo-based system for vessels tracking and surveyance in open seas.

2007

EPSILON develops GALILEO Marine ™ for marine applications addressed to the private-, public-, commercial-, and tourism-marine sectors. The system provides intelligent vessels touting management via satellite telecommunication and terrestrial mobile technologies. The system will be operational in 2008.

2008

EPSILON and eleven contractors are awarded MedIsolae-3Dwww.medisolae-3d.eu , the EC/INSFO system aimed to deliver 100+ European islands in virtual 3D-navigational format via the Google Earth ™ , Microsoft Virtual Earth ™ , and ESRI/ArcGlobe ™ platforms. Virtual terrains are obtained via high resolution geo-data LIDAR, whist the 3D-navigational routines are supported via Leica’s Titan ™ or other proprietary technologies. Touching-down on an island’s-street, the user can view POIs, hotels & monuments, and can make a booking via IBIT ™ platform. The system will be operational in 2009.
